Facebook says COO Sandberg asked for information on Soros

Facebook on Thursday said that chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg asked staff to look into whether billionaire critic George Soros had a financial interest in tarnishing the social network. "Mr. Soros is a prominent investor and we looked into his investments and trading activity related to Facebook," a spokeswoman said, queried by AFP.

Minesweeper in the sky: Satellite HysIS to detect landmines, save lives

The HysIS camera will work on a visible and near infrared band with a wavelength between 400 and 1400 nanometres (nm) and shortwave-infrared falling roughly between 1,400 and 3,000 nm. HysIS is better than the existing Indian earth observation satellites as it gives finer details of objects. The imager in HysIS can see earth in 55 spectral or colour bands.

Two Koreas start landmark journey for railway reconnection
